Restaurant-Café In de Waag is located in an old city gate, named the St. Anthonis gate, in the centre of the lively “Nieuwmarkt” in the historical city centre of Amsterdam. This characteristic monument was built between 1425-1488, and functioned as a city gate and later as a “Waag”(weighing house).  

Lit by 300 real candles, this building exudes a romantic atmosphere, once inside you feel the warmth and interesting history of this building.  

In addition to its function as a restaurant, we also offer unique meeting rooms for your meeting or private diners. An inspiring space with a beautiful view over the “Nieuwmarkt”.  

Our restaurant is perfect for group lunches and group dinners. In de Waag is designed to accommodate both individual dinners and small groups as well as large groups for lunch and dinner. 

We can offer a choice in starters and mains for groups up to 180 pax on the evening itself! 

We are open daily from 11:00 a.m. for early lunch or a cup of coffee, to start of your day properly. 

Our kitchen opens from 11:30-22:00, we serve an all-day dining menu.
